The American Devon Cattle Association and the 2008 Show Committee are very pleased to announce that Kit Pharo of Cheyenne Wells, Colorado has agreed to judge the 2008 ADCA Pen Show on October 25. Mr. Pharo will also address the ADCA in a lecture on the 24th at 2:00 P.M.

Since their first bull sale in 1990, demand for Pharo Cattle Company genetics has exploded and this April, they have over 300 bulls consigned in their Spring Sale. Kit Pharo is also well known for his management style and philosophy.

In 1994 Pharo Cattle Company began mailing out a simple newsletter to its customers and friends. They used newsletters to share their ranching and cattle management philosophies, thinking it would be much easier to sell bulls to people who understood their style. About 300 names comprised the original mailing list, which had grown to over 11,000 names by the turn of the century. The newsletter is currently delivered bi-monthly and totals around 8 pages.

Pharo Cattle Company’s seedstock program currently includes: Red Angus, Black Angus, Hereford, Tarentaise and Composites of these breeds. These are all moderate sized, low-maintenance breeds of cattle with extremely strong maternal traits.

Mr. Pharo will be on hand with Allan Williams of Tallgrass Beef the morning of October 24th at the Lakota Ranch Forage Bull Test Field Day before presenting his “Pharo Philosophies” lecture in the banquet facilities of the Culpeper Best Western starting at 2:00 P.M. The American Devon Cattle Association Awards Banquet Dinner will follow at 5:30. The afternoon events are priced together at $75.00 and tickets can be purchased by contacting Jacob Owens (e-mail) or #859 509-4236.

Kit is a true grass farmer, cattleman and businessman and shouldn’t be missed. Reserve your seat today for the lecture and the banquet. Learn more about Kit Pharo and his type of cattle at www.pharocattle.com.
